10 reasons you should reduce the amount of sugar in your diet 👈😛🍩🍰🍫


Sugar sugar!  Are you consuming to much of the sweet stuff ? Probably yes 😁 You may of heard of people doing a sugar detox and thought about trying it but sugar is just everywhere ! And we all love some sugary deserts 😊 In this post I’m not advising you to remove sugar entirely from your diet, just explaining the benefits of cutting down and you will thank me for it.

So let’s begin :

1. Improved mental health

Over-consumption of sugar leads to imbalances in certain brain chemicals, doubling the chances of outcomes like depression & anxiety. In particular, it seems excess sugar impacts dopamine–the neurotransmitter that fuels the brain’s reward system!

Chronically high blood sugar levels have also been linked to inflammation in the brain. And as some research has suggested, neuroinflammation may be one possible cause of depression. Don’t let this demonise sugar, the human body needs sugar ! But the correct amount. We are eating 5 times our daily intake it has been proven in scientific studies.

2. Reduce aging & roll back the years

In numerous detox participants there has been fantastic results in skin appearance after the reduction of sugar in the diet, Collagen and elastin are the most important proteins for healthy wrinkle free skin. Eyelash growth

So everyone’s saw the numerous eyelash serums you can find in stores and online but did any of you notice that most do contain castor oil ? This oil alone can help you regrow your eyelashes and make the ones you have thicker and stronger due to its nutrients, all you need to do is apply in the evening after removing make-up. You need need a lot just make sure you get your lash line coated too. Some people swear they find results happening in the first week or so. I have not tried castor on my lashes but pretty soon will be, blogging the results as of now you reading this I might already have done so, you can type “eyelashes” into my search bar to find it or to find other info on lash care 😀

A friend a few years ago suggested castor oil to me for my lash care routine she absolutely swore about it, her lashes were so thick and strong. They were amazing lashes ! So it must be true 💖

Castor oil contains natural compounds that promote hair growth. A large percentage of castor oil contains Ricinoleic acid, one of the essential amino acids required by the human body. To make your own castor oil hair potion mix a few drops of castor with a few drops of  Coconut Oil, you can add an essential oil in like lavender or tea tree this us just to mask the smell of the castor, massage it well into your scalp and through your long hair if need be. Keep on for about 30 min to an hour then wash off. Using castor on hair it takes a few weeks for growth to show but the condition will change almost right away.

If you have over waxed/removed your brow hair and would like some regrowth in that area rub some castor on your brows before bed each night, in just 3 weeks you will have larger eyebrows !

Dry skin anywhere on the body

Dry elbows ? Or knees? Or any were else for that matter could use some moisturiser!  Mix some castor with coconut oil and apply to dry areas ( including face ) leave for 20 to 30 mind then wash off, repeat for as long as and your skin will thank you for it ! 💗🔥

Treats ringworm

Castor oil contains a compound called undecylenic acid, which is a very effective treatment for the fungal skin infection, ringworm. For best results, apply and leave on overnight.

Stretch marks

Stretch marks during and after pregnancy can be treated with castor oil, if you have tried this with good results please let us know in the comment section !


Acne can be treated using castor oil on your face or body before bed each night, put it on a thin layer and massage in. Leave on for an hour or so then wash off. The amazing uses of Organic Coconut Oil

At the moment there is a massive trend in the hair and beauty world for coconut oil based products. Especially shampoos and conditioners! But what about just plain old organic coconut oil ? What can that do on its own ? Well there are a lot of amazing uses and I’m going to delve into a few in my blog post today. As it’s just been new year I bet there are ladies out there who want some natural health and beauty tips to help kick off the first half of 2018 😉


Natrual Bug, Flea and Insect Repellent for humans and animals 

Use coconut oil mixed in with tea tree oil, lavender oil or peppermint oil and apply all over your body if your in a location that has bugs, flies, bees or insects of any kind and this should act as a pretty good repellent. You can also add all oils in together to create a more powerful reppelent. Some people add lemon or lemongrass to the body repellent but you should avoid doing that if your going out in the sun as the lemon could burn and damage your skin 👈

For dogs and cats you can create a spray using a bottle at one cup of water, 1 cup of coconut oil with added lavender oil or lemongrass oil. Spray and comb throw coat. This will help combat lice and fleas in animals and also repel any insects or bugs. You can use tea tree for this also.

Cat and dogs coats

Apply coconut oil to your animals coat after rubbing it I’m your hands to heat or you can heat slightly in a container over the cooker but just slightly ! Brush it through and leave on for 1 hour and then wash off, once dry their coats should improve in quality and shine, can improve hair loss in animals and is very effective in combating fleas 😉 So looks like you and your pet can have coconut oiling pamper nights !!!

Hair Regrowth and beautiful shine 

The natural antioxidants and nutrients (vitamin E, vitamin K and iron) found in coconut oil boosts hair growth and regrowth. Apply coconut oil to dry hair and scalp, massage in and leave in for about an hour. This will improve your hair growth, reduce dandruff and make your hair stronger. If you have hair loss concentrate on applying to those areas ☺ also you may want to mix coconut oil with organic castor oil and leave in overnight with cling film covering your head. Use coconut oil as a massage oil, it will leave your skin in great condition. You can also use it as lubricant 💖🔥😃

Consuming a tablespoon of coconut oil a day benefits

OK so I heard that coconut oil could kill Hepatitis viruses in your body but I was really not so sure about that, maybe it could combat the symptoms but certainly not kill it ? If so everyone with this could be cured. So I did a little digging about and this is what I found :

Epsom salt detox bath experience 🔥✅🌟

For a long time I had wanted to try epsom salts and dead Sea salts. A friend of mine recommended detox baths etc, they said they felt dizzy leaving the bath and I thought it must be all make believe because how could it work ?

So I picked up some epsom salts in napiers the herbalists, and had the first bath. During it I did become very tired and relaxed almost sedated at one point and then nothing… after I came out I felt drained a little and had to lie down, then later on in the evening I felt the calmest I had been in weeks and also everything seemed brighter and I felt more alert.

The package I had was small but I had more for another bath, round two 😅😜

The second one was very different I didn’t feel relaxed as I had the first one but I sweated a little more than usual during it. Afterward my skin looked fab 😁 and omg I had to lie down straight after I felt so relaxed as if I had drunk whiskey. It was a fantastic floaty peacefully feeling !🌟😍

I would recommend epsom salts to anyone now 😝 I’d love to hear others experiences or uses for epsom salts. As I have read online it can treat multiple ailments 🔥

Why am I depressed ?

Feeling under the weather? 

Seasonal disorder or SAD is more than just wishing for warm weather during the gloomy winter months. We need sunshine to help keep our body’s internal clock functioning like it should. Daily exposure to just 15 to 20 minutes of sunshine can be enough to reap the benefits. Along with Vitamin D, the sun also supplies us with Nitric Oxide (NO). NO is imperative to the human body as a tool for regulating important physiological processes, including metabolism. Proper exposure to NO from the sun will help keep your metabolism running smoothly and discourage overeating. Vitamin D deficiencies can lead to the development of prostate and breast cancer, memory loss, and an increased risk for developing dementia and schizophrenia.

  • People who have depression go outdoors less, so they are less likely to have adequate vitamin D in their blood.

  • Research does seem to show a link between low levels of vitamin D in the blood and symptoms of depression

If you don’t eat enough omega-3 fatty acids, you can be at an increased risk for depression. To get your omegas, just eat fatty fish – like salmon, sardines and tuna.

Healthy fats, known as essential fatty acids (EFAs) come in several different forms including the omega-3 and omega-6 type. Our modern lifestyle intake of omega-3 fats tends to be low. A rich natural source of omega-3 fats is oily fish. These contain two main types of omega-3 fatty acid; eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA).

Within the body, EPA and DHA are found in very high concentration in brain tissue and are believed to play an important role in nerve function and mood regulation.

There is a lot of evidence linking depression to omega-3 fat deficiency. One study published in 1996 found that depression was associated with a relative deficiency of EPA.

The chemistry of the brain is finely tuned, and can be upset by certain foodstuffs.

Perhaps two of the most disruptive dietary elements are sugar and caffeine

Depression is a side effect of many medications. Be sure to check the side effects of any new medications you take.

Poor relationships
You may have friends or co-workers who are a negative influence on you. Over time, the negative attitudes of others can wear off on you. Watch out for jealousy at home or in the work place people are sneaky and use subtle comments to bring you down.

Dismissive remarks about their partner’s appearance and attempts at conversation become the norm. With verbal attacks, they try to manipulate partners into believing they’re the ones in need of help and cause them to question their own judgment. At social gatherings, the depressed partners can make cutting remarks and ignore their partners while engaging happily with everyone else. At the worst, verbal abuse can even escalate to physical attacks.

One of the hallmarks of depression is the overpowering sense of worthlessness. Self-esteem is replaced with self-contempt. An inner voice persuades the partner to think this way: I can’t do anything right, and I’ve never been able to. I’m just too stupid. Everyone else may think I’m fine but they just don’t know what really goes on inside me.

Under active thyroid

The link between an under active thyroid and depression has been documented. Up to 50% of people with hypothyroidism will have some depression-like symptoms. It’s worth having your thyroid hormone levels checked if you are feeling depressed, along with other symptoms such as fatigue, dry skin, cold sensitivity or hair loss.

The psychiatric disturbances which accompany hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism, the two commonest thyroid disorders, mimic mental illness. People with an overactive thyroid may exhibit marked anxiety and tension, emotional lability, impatience and irritability, distractible overactivity, exaggerated sensitivity to noise, and fluctuating depression with sadness and problems with sleep and the appetite. In extreme cases, they may appear schizophrenic, losing touch with reality and becoming delirious or hallucinating. An underactive thyroid can lead to progressive loss of interest and initiative, slowing of mental processes, poor memory for recent events, fading of the personality’s colour and vivacity, general intellectual deterioration, depression with a paranoid flavour, and eventually, if not checked, to dementia and permanent harmful effects on the brain. In instances of each condition, some persons have been wrongly diagnosed, hospitalized for months, and treated unsuccessfully for psychosis.

Toxic household mold

The mold found in many homes across the country is microscopic fungi that grow on any host surface. Although mold prefers to grow and even thrives on certain surfaces like paper, cloth, wood, etc, it can grow just about anywhere if the conditions are right. This means mold could even grow on concrete or glass. They are survivors and very adaptable, easily able to not just survive but thrive in many home environments.

Most often molds found in the home are caused by some type of water damage or brought in from the outside to grow and flourish. Indoor flooding, leaking pipes or windows, and leaking roofs all are common causes of indoor mold.

The dangerous or toxic molds are those molds that produce mycotoxins. Mycotoxins are known to cause allergic and other adverse health reactions in animal species.

In small amounts molds are generally not harmful. When the levels grow unchecked the spores become airborne. This is where the potential health problems arise, especially in susceptible individuals.
